A highlight of the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk are our two gallery spaces in the former coal silos and in the new building, which we use in partnership with the renowned and globally active KÖNIG GALERIE.

The former coal silos are over 15 meters high and offer 200 square meters of space for art that moves. Divided into four cabinets and connected by a walkway in the central corridor, no daylight enters, creating ideal conditions for fragile works of art. The industrial charm has been preserved and sets the space apart from the white cubes in which galleries usually present their art.

The gallery space in the new building offers four floors and a total of 1,600 square meters of additional space for spectacular works of art.

A new sense of culture means contemporary works of art that do something to you. No frills between beer garden and spectacular architecture. Take a look at our gallery now.

About KÖNIG GALERIE

KÖNIG GALERIE has developed into a dynamic platform for contemporary art in Berlin and beyond. Founded in 2002 by Johann König under the name "Johann König, Berlin", the gallery specializes in presenting the works of both emerging and established international artists with a particular focus on younger generations. The program is characterized by interdisciplinary, concept-oriented approaches and encompasses a broad spectrum of artistic media, from sculpture and painting to video, installation, printmaking, photography and performance.

In 2015, the former church of St. Agnes became the central location with the current name KÖNIG GALERIE. The monumental brutalist building in Berlin-Kreuzberg was originally designed by architect Werner Düttmann between 1964 and 1967. After a respectful renovation by the renowned architect Arno Brandlhuber, the project was awarded the Berlin Architecture Prize in 2016.

In April 2021, the KÖNIG SEOUL gallery branch opened in the South Korean capital. From 2017 to 2023, König maintained pop-up spaces in London, Vienna, Tokyo and Monaco and opened a second Berlin location in the Telegraphenamt next to Museum Island in 2023. KÖNIG MEXICO CITY opened its doors at the beginning of 2024 and in May 2024, KÖNIG MUNICH opened its third location in Germany in the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk. In March 2025, additional spaces were opened in Berlin at Ziegelstraße 16-17 in the Forum on Museum Island next to the Telegraph Office.

The gallery has successfully placed works in major private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Guggenheim Foundation. The artists represented by the gallery have been featured in solo exhibitions at institutions around the world, regularly participate in prestigious group exhibitions such as Documenta and biennials in Venice, Berlin, New York and elsewhere, and have been awarded numerous major prizes, commissions and public projects.
