The Bergson Phil'

The Bergson Phil' are around 25 Bergson Artists who form an orchestra. The "Phil'" alludes to "Philharmonic Orchestra". Strictly speaking, the Bergson Phil' line-up is too small for a philharmonic orchestra, because sometimes a hundred musicians or more play there. But the acoustic possibilities of our hall give it a symphonic character. What's more, "Phil'" translates as "friend". And that fits in well with us and the relationship we want with our audience. Alongside the Jazzrausch Big Band, the Bergson Phil' are our second house ensemble.
We really wanted a Bergson orchestra with string instruments. An orchestra that can play acoustic, symphonic music. This makes it the ideal complement to the Jazzrausch big band, which is musically characterized by techno, brass instruments, electronic music and improvisation.
The Bergson Phil' are used in the first acoustic production for our Elektra Tonquartier, called "VIVACE!". Vivace - that means lively, strong, bright. And this is the name of the acoustic system in our concert hall. It enables us to create any conceivable room acoustics. The hall sounds like the Elbphilharmonie, a recording studio or Cologne Cathedral at the touch of a button.
Our own production, played by the Bergson Phil', brings these acoustic possibilities to life. Spatial sound that surrounds and envelops you, that you grasp and that takes hold of you. A unique concert that you can experience for the first time on October 20 at Bergson.
