Like all great popular music, jazz thrives on strong personalities. Vincent Peirani is just such a person - an accordionist who has gained international recognition with his charisma and his very own sound language. For over ten years, Peirani has brought a breath of fresh air to accordion playing and has literally reinvented the sound of the instrument. He is one of the most exciting voices on the music scene today - with an open, cosmopolitan style that transcends genre boundaries and combines colors, cultures and eras. With "Living Being IV: Time Reflections", Vincent Peirani and his quintet now present a new work at Bergson that is deeply rooted in musical reflection and the exploration of time. The new project invites you to a sonic exploration in which every note is characterized by the complexity and nuances of the rhythm of life. Created in the particular context of the first months of the Covid pandemic, this work is the result of a moment of forced pause for Vincent Peirani, which led him to meditate on how time shapes our lives and our perception of the world.

Vincent Peirani always works with very different artists - this is what makes his music so versatile and multi-layered. On the new album, this is particularly evident in two pieces that he has dedicated to the Beninese guitarist Lionel Loueke and the German pianist Michael Wollny. Their influences bring in new timbres and ideas and show how rich and varied Peirani's musical world is. The result is music that is deeply moving - personal and thoughtful, but at the same time open and universal.
