What if Mozart were alive today? If he composed with the world of today in his ears - and the spirit of the 18th century in his heart?
Thomas Enhco not only asks this question, he answers it.
Known for his ability to move effortlessly between jazz and classical music, this time Enhco immerses himself in the universe of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and transforms it.
In his solo program, he improvises freely on iconic motifs: from sonatas, symphonies, operas, sacred music and quartets. The result is not a reproduction, but a reinterpretation: intimate, lively, full of surprises.
His approach is deeply influenced by experience. In 2022, Enhco embodied Mozart himself in the acclaimed production Mozart, une journée particulière. His improvisation on the Lacrimosa from the Requiem became the starting point for this project: a solo evening that shows the composer's eternal themes in a new light. And in a new language.
Thomas Enhco grew up in two musical worlds. As part of the Casadesus family, deeply rooted in classical music; and as the stepson of jazz violinist Didier Lockwood, at home in improvisation. "I'm bilingual," he says. And that's how it sounds.
Whether in jazz clubs in New York or with large orchestras worldwide: Enhco stands for musical freedom without arbitrariness, for precision with soul. His music is an invitation not only to listen to Mozart in a new way, but also to experience music as an open conversation - transcending time, style and emotion.
