RENNER: Jazz Trio at Bergson

Two brothers and a kindred spirit: the trio “RENNER” presents an unusual lineup at this jazz evening at Bergson. The trombone-bass-drums lineup is, after all, not all that common in jazz history. Moritz Renner, Tabea Kind, and Valentin Renner make excellent use of the musical spaces opened up by the absence of a harmonic instrument. Their interplay creates the perfect symbiosis between freedom and metered precision. RENNER is known for gripping solos, atmospheric compositions, and a sense of absolute commitment and ease in their interplay that even long-established bands often fail to achieve. You can always hear just how close the instrumentalists are to one another.

On this evening, the winners of the “European Young Artist Jazz Award 2026” and the “Biberach Jazz Prize 2024” will present their debut album, “Never Ending Story.” It is a musical chronicle of the lives of two brothers, Moritz and Valentin Renner, who share the same passion: music.

Bayerischer Rundfunk describes what the audience can expect from the upcoming tour as follows: “This music is filled with incredible energy, creativity, and communication. So incredibly lively, exciting, and at the same time incredibly beautiful (...). Nothing was missing, and it was brought together in perfect beauty.”
