When words become music and music tells a story - the result is an evening like this.
Author and journalist Michael Schleicher dedicates his book "München. Lesen und lesen lassen" is dedicated to one of the oldest bookshops in the city: L. Werner, founded over 140 years ago. But it's about more than bookshelves - it's about a declaration of love. To reading. To the city. To the bookshop as a place of remembrance, of encounters, of quiet revolt.
Because: bookshops don't just sell books. They tell stories themselves. And their shelves reflect nothing less than the cultural transformation of an entire city.
Michael Schleicher will be accompanied by the Ensemble Luise, which will provide the musical framework for the evening - with sounds from the turn of the century, the smoky rhythms of the 1920s and the fine lines of the present. In this way, old Munich meets the present in a dialog of words and sound.
A literary concert. A journey through time. And an evening that celebrates reading.
