At the Bergson: Puchheim youth chamber orchestra with an award-winning program
Young, fresh, dynamic and full of passion - this is how the multi-award-winning Puchheim Youth Chamber Orchestra is always described. In June 2025, the PJKO once again took first place in the youth chamber orchestra category at the German Orchestra Competition. The PJKO has also undertaken numerous concert tours to almost all European countries and Japan. Now, for the first time, it is playing next door to us at the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk with a program featuring Tchaikovsky's immortal String Serenade, Vivaldi's dazzling Concerto in G minor and Schubert's Rondo in A major. You can experience Anton Carus in the latter. Born in California in 2008 and living in Munich since 2016, the violinist is a junior student of the world-famous Julia Fischer. He won the most recent of his many prizes this year: a genuine Stradivarius violin from 1703 as part of the German Instrument Fund competition.
The PJKO has a long tradition and is considered one of the most renowned German youth chamber orchestras for good reason. It is primarily made up of students of the violinist and university lecturer Peter Michielsen, who is the musical director of the PJKO, and his wife Simone Burger-Michielsen. Since the PJKO was founded in 1993, the two have repeatedly succeeded in encouraging talented young musicians to achieve musical excellence.
