“From the Ashes of Our Fear” at Bergson: An Evening with Hamadan Hasun
With her first book, *From the Ashes of Our Fear*, activist and creator
Hamadan Hasun now shares her moving story live at Bergson Kunstkraftwerk. You can look forward to an emotional evening exploring themes of flight, identity, empowerment, and the power of sisterhood.
As the daughter of a Yazidi family that was forced to flee to Germany to escape the genocide in Iraq, Hamadan Hasun shares her experiences navigating trauma, the pressure to perform, and the desire to belong. She speaks openly and uncompromisingly about racism, patriarchal structures, and the feeling of never being “enough”—and about how she learned to raise her voice.
With great warmth, humor, and conviction, Hamadan Hasun creates a space for
solidarity and courage. At the heart of it all is the power of women who empower one another instead of working against each other.
Hamadan Hasun has been using her reach on Instagram and TikTok for years to give visibility to marginalized voices and openly address social injustices. Her live tour combines personal stories, social issues, and inspiring insights
