The Balthasar Neumann Orchestra at Bergson: Bach's Brandenburg Concertos
Following its acclaimed guest performance at the NEUROPE Festival, the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra returns to the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk, this time with Bach’s legendary cycle of Brandenburg Concertos.
The 5th Brandenburg Concerto, in particular, is considered revolutionary for its spectacular harpsichord solo—almost like an early piano concerto. The Third Concerto unfolds with a rousing string sound full of drive, while the Sixth Brandenburg Concerto creates an atmosphere all its own with its warm, dark timbre.
The Balthasar Neumann Orchestra is one of the world’s leading ensembles in the field of historical performance practice and brings together top musicians from all over Europe to form a unique collective.
In this concert, you’ll hear Concertos Nos. 3, 5, and 6.
Concertos Nos. 1, 2, and 4 will be performed on the same day at 5 p.m.
The combo ticket for both concerts costs 69 euros.
