Art between man, nature and technology
This exhibition tour gives you exciting insights and background information on the Bergson Gallery's new exhibition EARTH MATTERS.
The show focuses on the complex interplay between humans, nature and technology and uses analytical and poetic artistic approaches to draw attention to the urgency of a conscious approach to the earth. With Olaf Otto Becker, Andreas Greiner, Kathrin Linkersdorff, Maximilian Prüfer and Tamiko Thiel, five internationally renowned artists will be presenting their works:inside works that deal with central issues of our time: the consequences of industrialization, the effects of human drive for optimization and the not always foreseeable consequences of technological developments.
Digital works, photographs, sculptures and the special technique of nature typography open up new perspectives on ecological systems, biological life forms and technical artifacts on the ground floor and mezzanine of the Bergson Gallery - and their potential to bring about change and transformation both with and without human intervention.
We will also be visiting the SOME WEATHER exhibition in the Silos. It combines the works of two initially seemingly different positions in an exhibition that explores atmospheric phenomena and elemental forces as the driving forces behind an impressive and unique artistic practice.
While Olga Golos combines the overwhelming power of nature with personal experience and subjective perception, lending it a poetic dimension, Lennart Lahuis explores with great sensitivity and precision how natural processes and materials shape and shift the legibility and comprehensibility of information.
From different perspectives, the works enter into a captivating dialog and thus open up a space of experience and resonance in the silos, in which the natural elements can be directly experienced as a formative force of contemporary art.
