A review from the Bergson Academy: The "weight loss injection" as a beacon of hope against obesity and diabetes

Leading experts in research and medicine recently gathered at the Bergson Academy to talk about a topic that affects millions of people worldwide: the "weight loss injection" as a possible answer to extreme obesity and diabetes. The evening offered exciting insights into current research and very personal insights from a patient. We are also very pleased about the lively participation of our audience in the form of intimate testimonials.

Our top-class speakers, including Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Matthias Tschöp, CEO of the top research center Helmholtz Munich and internationally renowned diabetes researcher, offered well-founded scientific insights into the subject matter. Prof. Dr. med. Matthias Blüher, Director of the Helmholtz Institute for Metabolism, Obesity and Vascular Research (HI-MAG), shared valuable information on the clinical application of the "weight loss injection" and highlighted the challenges that obesity patients face in everyday life. Another important part of the evening was the testimonial of a patient who spoke openly about his journey in dealing with obesity and the new treatment options.

In light of the global health challenges posed by obesity and diabetes, the potential opportunities and risks of the "weight loss injection" were discussed in stimulating discussions and its transformative effect on obesity therapy was scrutinized.

Moderator Maximilian Maier, our Program and PR Director, led the event and ensured an insightful exchange. We would like to thank everyone involved for an inspiring evening at the Bergson Academy.

A collaboration with Helmholtz Munich.

The role of the Bergson Academy

The Bergson Academy, which is based on the four pillars of culture, science, current affairs and sustainability, creates a space for opening up and discussing the important issues of our time. In our current cooperation with Helmholtz Munich, we are focusing on medical innovations and Germany as a center of science.

The series of events, the first evening of which was dedicated to the "weight loss injection", will soon continue with another exciting topic: on Monday, November 11, 2024, the focus will be on how sustainable Germany's medical research is and what it is already achieving today. Title of the expert talk: "The medicine of tomorrow - What is Germany achieving?". Tickets and further information on the event are available on the Bergson Academy website at bergson.com/program.
