Yesterday evening, Thursday, June 12, 2025, the new solo exhibition "RAW PARADISE" by the renowned Belgian artist Arne Quinze opened in the former coal silos of the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk. Numerous art enthusiasts flocked to the cultural hotspot to experience the vernissage, including an artist talk with Arne Quinze himself. The new show focuses on the question of how humans are increasingly moving away from natural rhythms and values. The exhibits include large-format oil paintings and ceramic and Murano glass sculptures.
The vernissage began at 19:30 in the former Kesselhalle. A special highlight of the opening evening was the artist talk with Arne Quinze, which gave visitors the opportunity to gain insights into his intentions, works and artistic processes. The event was accompanied musically by Bergson artist and techno DJ Alex Kovacs.
With "RAW PARADISE", Arne Quinze continues his twenty-year-long exploration of the unbalanced relationship between man and nature. The art objects create a world of experience in which the raw power of nature and its fragile harmony become tangible at the same time. Quinze works with different materials and combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary forms of expression. His sculptures combine powerful yet fragile elements - a reflection of nature itself. Quinze's close collaboration with the renowned Berengo Studio on Murano and with the ceramic artists of Atelier Vierkant is particularly noteworthy. Together, they have developed new techniques that expand the creative potential of glass and clay and represent the tension between nature and art. The exhibition shows the entire spectrum of natural energies - from the power of metal to the earthy texture of clay and the delicate fragility of glass. This is complemented by Quinze's expressive paintings, inspired by his garden and his travels in nature.
Opening hours from June 13, 2025:
Wednesday to Friday 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday 12:00 to 19:00
Admission is free of charge. The exhibition runs until August 03, 2025.
