Peter Wohlleben: Bacteria—The Unsung Heroes
How they shape us and influence nature

Peter Wohlleben at Bergson: The fascinating world of microorganisms

In Bergson, Peter Wohlleben opens up a fascinating world to you: the understanding of organisms that are invisible to the naked eye, but which nevertheless help determine the fate of mankind.

These microorganisms are not just practical everyday helpers - without bacteria there would be no yogurt, salami or sauerkraut. They live on our skin, on our tongue and in our intestines, and even in each of our body cells, where they influence processes that are vital for us.

The author shows that we are, to a certain extent, made up of bacteria and how strongly they shape us - for example through the production of hormones that influence our mood. He also explains how they can help us cope with the climate crisis. His central idea is that we should cooperate with these microorganisms and treat them with care so that both they and we are well! If you would like to learn more about these secret heroes and how they influence your health, then the Bergson Academy is the right place for you.
