When the music of Israeli-born jazz pianist Omer Klein is described as "boundless" (New York Times), this is meant quite literally: Klein composes for solo piano and big band, for jazz trio and orchestra, for theater, dance and film. With his Omer Klein Trio, he has been performing successfully on stages around the world for more than ten years. Now he is doubling the effort - and presenting his newly formed sextet The Poetics, with two saxophones and percussion.

His long-standing trio colleagues form the basis of the new sextet: Bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo and drummer Amir Bresler, both of whom he has known since his school days. With them, he has created his unmistakable music, which is influenced by so many styles - traditional Jewish music as well as contemporary jazz and classical music - and which has won many awards.

The Poetics, who first took to the stage at Klein's residency at the Alte Oper Frankfurt in spring 2025, now takes the music into new worlds of sound. However, the infectious grooves and catchy melodies that have always characterized Klein's music remain. And his love of the music of Brazil and Africa is also reflected in the new compositions.
