Attend a free public rehearsal of Beethoven's 1st Symphony as a family!
NOVIS are the scholarship holders of the world-renowned Balthasar Neumann Orchestra and thus the future of classical music. Together with their mentors, they dedicate this concert to the 1st Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). Still clearly rooted in classical music, it is already bursting with revolutionary potential. Beethoven is already beginning to break down tonal and emotional boundaries by starting the symphony in a completely unusual way. How exactly? And what other innovations are there? What disturbed the Viennese audience at the premiere in 1800?
You'll find out in this concert! Not only will you hear the complete symphony, but also selected highlights that will be discussed and explained beforehand. Like the legendary conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, Pablo González will have the orchestra play passages - in English - and then shed light on the musical context, explain the background and answer questions. You will be perfectly prepared for the experience of the entire work and hopefully feel even deeper into it.
