Joshua Milo blends jazz, fusion, and collective euphoria
With his seven-piece live band, Joshua Milo shows just how much fun jazz fusion can be: virtuosic, without taking itself too seriously, maximalist, yet still rousing and danceable. His thirst for musical discovery is evident in every note: one moment you feel like you’re racing around a Mario Kart track, the next you find yourself in a dusty desert landscape. One moment, an explosive energy is conjured up on stage; the next, an almost meditative calm prevails. Full of interaction—both within the band and with the audience — every concert becomes a shared experience full of unexpected twists and collective euphoria.
As a keyboardist, Joshua has already collaborated and performed with international greats such as Henrik Linder, Sam Greenfield, Jahari Stampley, Senri Kawaguchi, Jakob Manz, Flo Naegeli, and David Haynes. In addition, he is the keyboardist, producer, and creative force behind the funk band TILAR.
On May 7, 2027, Joshua will present his new album “WAIT WHAT” at Bergson. The album title says it all: “WAIT WHAT” describes exactly the moment after the last
track — that brief pause when you’re trying to process what just happened.
Even offstage, Joshua Milo combines musical sophistication with a playful approach to jazz and fusion. With his elaborately and humorously edited concert videos, he reaches an international audience on Instagram and TikTok: Several of his videos have gone viral with millions of views, and over 180,000 people now follow him on social media. In doing so, Joshua has built a community that extends far beyond the traditional jazz scene.
