The Bergson Halloween Festival
On the spookiest day of the year, we’re celebrating a cultural festival for all the senses, where you can customize your own itinerary. Look forward to a “True Crime in Music” concert, a thrilling reading, our Metal Night, and a hell of a Halloween party featuring the best hits from the ’80s through the ’00s. The festival also features the Bergson Story, gallery tours, dinner, children’s concerts, and the Lucky Punch Comedy Club. In the Atrium, you can enjoy snacks and drinks throughout the day.
If you’ve purchased a ticket for any of the events or concerts taking place that day, you’ll automatically receive free admission to the Halloween party in the Atrium.
Jaroslav Rudiš at the Bergson: Where the Dead Speak
This evening, author Jaroslav Rudiš will present his fast-paced novel, brimming with dry humor: In *Where the Dead Speak*, we set off on a whirlwind odyssey along the borders of Central Europe and explore what binds us together.
Lorenzo, Caspar, and Miss Detroit: Three friends—all somewhere between middle age and world-weariness—set out on a journey through the heart of Central Europe. In the trunk: the bones of a Nazi criminal, which they stole from a Berlin cemetery to beat the looting “Reich citizens” to it. What begins as an absurd mission turns into a road trip through cemeteries and into the past. While Lorenzo tries to write a poem in the backseat about dead European poets, Miss Detroit dreams of becoming a cemetery botanist. And Caspar recalls his great-uncle, who tragically lost his life in the war while still a child and has haunted the family’s history ever since. With every kilometer they drive, the three grow closer and yearn for an answer to the question that grows louder with every grave they pass: What do the dead tell us when we listen to them?
