Janoska Ensemble
The Big B’s

After the great success with a concert sold out far in advance and an enthusiastic audience, the Janoska Ensemble is back at the Bergson Kunstkraftwerk! This time with the "Big B's"!

They bring grandiose masters of the art of improvisation to life: Bach, Beethoven, Brahms - all of them "patron saints" and role models of the Janoska Ensemble.

However, the Janoska Ensemble also leaves room for other "Big B's": the "Romanian Folk Dances" - Béla Bartók's ingenious transcription from the folk music of Transylvania - are performed alongside the D minor double concerto by J. S. Bach (in a never-before-heard "classical-meets-jazz" version), as well as hits by Dave Brubeck ("Blue Rondo à la Turk") or Johannes Brahms (Hungarian Dance No. 1) and a large-scale arrangement of Leonard Bernstein's energetic Candide Overture...

It goes without saying that this album also includes original pieces from the laboratory of the Janoska composition workshop: Roman's "¡Buenos días, Marco!", Ondrej's "Bagatelle pour Va-Le", František's "Bellissima Naomi" or a homage to Beethoven's probably most famous theme "Für Elise" - all, of course, in the so-called "Janoska style".

What is that? A new, jointly created musical vision, which - based on classical music - creates a link between jazz, pop and other stylistic elements; in addition, perhaps the most important component of making music together is the forgotten art of improvisation in classical music.
