With court reporter Annette Ramelsberger, Judge Dr. Laurent Lafleur, and Dr. Andrea Titz, Vice President of the Traunstein Regional Court
Vom Tatort zur Story: True Crime zwischen Aufklärung und Unterhaltung
True Crime discussion in Munich - Between journalism, justice and entertainment

True crime is booming - in podcasts, books and series. But where is the line between journalistic investigation and exciting storytelling? What responsibility do media professionals bear when real crimes become stories? And what does this trend mean for victims, investigations and our understanding of law and justice?

An evening dedicated to true crime will address these questions. Annette Ramelsberger, renowned court reporter for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Dr. Laurent Lafleur, judge at the Munich Higher Regional Court and Dr. Andrea Titz, Vice President of the Traunstein Regional Court, will take part in a panel discussion.
Together they will shed light on how crime scenes are turned into narratives, the ethical challenges involved and why true crime is so fascinating.

We cordially invite you to an exciting discussion at the interface of justice, media and entertainment.

To the speakers:

Annette Ramelsberger was awarded the Theodor Wolff Prize in 1999 for her reportage on the deportation of a fully integrated Hungarian family. She has been a court reporter for the Süddeutsche Zeitung since 2012. Her reporting ranges from major international criminal proceedings such as the trial against the Norwegian right-wing extremist Anders Breivik to prominent white-collar criminal trials, for example against Uli Hoeneß. In May 2019, she and her team were awarded the special Nannen Prize for exceptional journalistic achievement for their five years of reporting on the NSU trial.

Dr. Laurent Jacques Maurice Lafleur is a judge at the Higher Regional Court of Munich, where he is a member of the 2nd Criminal Senate. Since December 1, 2022, he has also headed the press office for criminal cases. He previously worked as a public prosecutor at the Munich I public prosecutor's office.

Dr. Andrea Titz is Vice President of the Traunstein Regional Court and Chairwoman of the German Association of Judges. Among other things, she was spokesperson for the Munich Higher Regional Court in 2014, including in the criminal tax proceedings against former FC Bayern manager Uli Hoeneß, in the NSU trial and in the bribery proceedings against Bernie Ecclestone.
