DOK.fest 2026: "LOIS WEINBERGER - RUDERAL SOCIETY"

From May 6 to 25, 2026, DOK.fest Munich opens up a view of the world and shows over 100 current international documentary films. Beyond the daily news coverage, the films provide insights into diverse worlds. The Bergson is one of the 2026 venues - we are delighted to be able to present four selected films in this year's edition.

On May 17, we will be showing the film LOIS WEINBERGER - RUDERAL SOCIETY. Lois Weinberger stands for an artistic examination of nature, society and marginal zones. He was a conceptual and installation artist who worked with plants, landscapes and processes.

You could also say he was a guerrilla gardener and art rebel: "Everything Lois touched immediately became a poem." Between archive treasures and personal insights, Markus Heltschl paints the portrait of a visionary whose works transferred the strategies of wild gardening into the philosophical and political discourse of the art world. Subversive and invigorating.

Austria, 2025, Markus Heltschl, 96 min., German, English, French, Japanese with English subtitles
