What Climate Change Means for Munich
What does climate change actually mean for our daily lives in Munich? To what extent will heat waves, heavy rains, and droughts change our city in the future, and what can we do today to mitigate the consequences?
The event “Climate Change in Munich: Understanding Climate Impacts—Shaping Adaptation” focuses on the concrete effects of climate change on Munich and shows how the city can prepare for upcoming challenges. You’ll learn which climate risks are already being felt today, what Munich might face in the coming years, and what measures can help make the city more resilient and livable.
We are pleased to have Dr. Maximilian Witting as our guest for this Academy evening. He conducts research at the Chair of Anthropogeography—with a focus on human-environment relationships—under Prof. Matthias Garschagen at LMU Munich and will provide scientifically grounded insights into the impacts of climate change and adaptation options for Munich.
