Children's concert “Sarah and the Bat”
A Munich music history based on Strauss' operetta

Family Concert at Bergson: Sarah and the Bat

"Sarah and the Bat" is a lighthearted musical set in Munich—inspired by Johann Strauss’s operetta *Die Fledermaus*—retold in a fresh, new way by our Bergson Artists.

A bit of a masquerade ball, a bit of mistaken identity, and plenty of beautiful live music: What happens when we suddenly no longer know who’s who? When you don’t recognize the person across from you—and discover them anew precisely because of that? Amid dazzling characters and hidden layers, a story full of surprises unfolds.

And the music? Of course, that’s a must! Strauss’s waltzes get a modern makeover—what if the “Waltz King” were to think beyond the three-four time signature?

The Bat is the secret puppet master who brings everyone together in a new light at a grand party—it can’t be a coincidence that she chose the Bergson of all places as her home.

Sarah Mettenleiter (piano, vocals, lyrics), Bettina Maier (saxophone), Moritz Renner (trombone), Flurin Mück (drums), Harald Scharf (bass)
