David Helbock & Julia Hofer at Bergson: Jazz full of creativity and sound colors

David Helbock, the figurehead of Austrian jazz, delights audiences at festivals on all continents with his projects. His virtuosity and creativity have earned him numerous awards, including several prizes at the world's largest jazz piano solo competition in Montreux (CH) and the "Outstanding Artist Award" from the Austrian government. For his latest project, Helbock has recruited the versatile electric bassist and cellist Julia Hofer from Vienna as his duo partner. Hofer has previously attracted attention primarily in the pop world, whether through tours with No Angels or appearances on German TV shows such as Stefan Raab's.In addition to her strong online presence on YouTube, where her videos for the Thomann company inspire millions of bass fans, she is now devoting herself more intensively to jazz together with David Helbock.

In the fall of 2025, the duo released a new album that was highly praised by the press and was also voted one of the best jazz albums of the year by "TheTimes" (UK). It contains a mixture of calm, dreamy original compositions and groovy jazz pieces that bear the unmistakable style of Helbock and Hofer. With imaginative effects and the dynamic alternation between cello and electric bass, this evening promises an extraordinary sound experience.
