Elina Duni & Rob Luft live at Bergson: BR Club concert with "Reaching for the Moon"
An international duo with music that is both gentle and adventurous
The Swiss-Albanian singer Elina Duni and the British guitarist Rob Luft have been developing their musical work together for nine years now. So it's no wonder that they harmonize perfectly in their music-making. They got to know each other at a workshop at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival. Their new album "Reaching for the Moon" is their most intimate work to date, which they present to you at the BR Club concert at Bergson. In its quiet way, it is just as adventurous and far-reaching as its predecessors and the lyrics of the original compositions often take up motifs of the night.
Elina Duni was born in Tirana in 1981 and gained her first stage experience at the age of five when she sang for national radio and television. She began studying classical piano in Geneva and then discovered jazz. Particularly impressive: in 2017, she recorded the remarkable solo album "Partir", on which she played all the instruments herself and sang in nine languages.
Rob Luft was born in South London in 1993. He started playing in the British National Youth Jazz Orchestra at the age of 15 before going on to study at the Royal Academy of Music. After graduating, he was awarded the Academy's Kenny Wheeler Jazz Prize, and most recently the UK Parliamentary Jazz Award 2025, where he was voted Instrumentalist of the Year. The sound of his guitar playing is unique, you could describe it as "singing".
