Bergson Percussion Night: The Sound of Water
An immersive percussion concert
An immersive percussion concert

"The steady pulse of the heartbeat, the continually breathing in and out of air, the pumping flow of blood vessels...,

Rhythm and the sound of water are probably among the first sensory impressions a human being experiences in the womb. With their program "Water", the three percussionists Daan Wilms, Felix Kolb and Patrick Stapleton impressively combine these two elements into a musical synthesis of the arts and create a world of sound in the Bergson that captures and reinterprets these most primal of all perceptions. Trickling, rushing, flowing, throbbing...get ready for a very special listening experience with a second level

The three musicians and Bergson Artists - Daan, Felix and Patrick - came together during their studies in Munich. Since then, they have been playing as a well-rehearsed ensemble on stages all over the world. For the extraordinary concert program "Water", they leave their usual percussion instruments behind and instead transform everything that has to do with water into sound tools.

This creative curiosity has shaped composer Daan Wilms in particular since his childhood: he collected pots, pans and anything else he could get his hands on to build his own drum set. Today, 20 years later, nothing has changed - but his passion has long since turned into a career. He was the first graduate of the new postgraduate course "Excellence in Performance" at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, where he was able to give free rein to his creativity and innovative power.
