Ein Abend über Ethik und Ästhetik digitaler Musikkultur
Künstliche Intelligenz der Töne – Ethik und Ästhetik digitaler Musikkultur

What do digital and AI technologies mean for music? Can new musical qualities and forms of musical participation emerge through musical production or interaction with AI? What effects do digitalization and AI have on questions of cultural communication, mediation, participation and distributive justice in the music sector?

The BERGSON Academy's panel discussion "Artificial intelligence of sounds - ethics and aesthetics of digital music culture" is dedicated to these and similar questions. The participants are cultural journalist Prof. Dorte Lena Eilers, music mediator Michaela Fridrich, multidisciplinary artist Prof. Ali Nikrang, digital expert Prof. Dr. Frizz Lauterbach and musicologist Prof. Dr. Michael Schmidt - editor of the anthology of the same title published this spring, who will also moderate the discussion.

The anthology "Künstliche Intelligenz der Töne - Ethik und Ästhetik digitaler Musikkultur", published by edition text + kritik in spring 2025, is dedicated to questions about the effects of digitalization and AI on cultural communication, mediation, participation and distributive justice in the music sector. Nine players from the world of music express their views on this from different perspectives. The volume includes contributions from cultural journalist Prof. Dorte Lena Eilers, music mediator Michaela Fridrich, multidisciplinary artist Prof. Ali Nikrang, digital expert Prof. Dr. Frizz Lauterbach and musicologist Prof. Dr. Michael Schmidt, who edited the volume.
