Europe's security situation has changed fundamentally in recent years. At the latest since Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, it has become clear that the assumption of a permanently stable peace in Europe was deceptive. For Germany, the question of its own defense capabilities - politically, militarily and industrially - is therefore more urgent than ever.

 

Under the title "Armaments and reality. How defensible is Germany?", this evening at the Bergson Academy is dedicated to the discrepancy between security policy claims and actual capabilities. The focus will be on analyzing whether Germany is capable of credibly fulfilling its obligations in national and alliance defence - and what role German industry plays in this.
